Sacred Beats

By: Manero

If you love the music of Cuban singer and percussionist Pedrito Martínez as much as we do, now you have the chance of getting to know his master.

Because Pedrito --the man who has revitalized New York City's Cuban roots music scene with his long residences and collaborations-- has worked as producer of the recently released L’ó dá fún Bàtá by Román Díaz.

L’ó dá fún Bàtá's 16 tracks feature a Yoruba-gospel crossover choir, while mixing Yoruba chants with spoken word recordings.

And att the middle of everything is, of course, Díaz and his masterful Batá drum percussion.

Trust us: it is a mystical and sonic trip you don't want to miss.

You can get the album here, or stream it via the magic of Spotify right below.
